Bold clusters of bell-shaped cherry-red flowers create a dazzling display against the dark mahogany foliage, which appears almost black when exposed to full sun. Rich in pollen and nectar, these flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, making it an excellent choice for pollinator gardens.
With its dense, compact-rounded habit, Arabian Nights is perfect for small garden spaces or patio pots. Weigela is easy to grow and low maintenance. It thrives in sunny to partly shady locations, though the best flowering occurs in full sun. The shrub prefers average to moderately fertile, medium moist soil that drains well and has an acidic pH, ideally between 5.5 and 6.2. To maintain shape and size, prune immediately after flowering.
